Ben Tankard

August 7th, 2007

ben_tankard_pondering Ben Tankard has got to have one of the smoothest sounds around. Smooth jazz is what many call this artists sound. Some may argue that Ben’s music is not really classed as jazz in genre and although wrestling with the idea myself at first, I came to the realization that although layed back in style the music is still very jazzy with its twisty, fast off beats and instrumental sounds. You wont hear the big brass in Ben’s music! Truly a relaxing “smooth jazz experience”. I was blessed listening to his music lately in the lead up to his review. When you need something that truly relaxes you, be sure to put Ben Tankard’s music on and let your mind go to that happy place.

Who is Ben Tankard?

He is a 6 foot 6 inch former professional basketball player. Now keyboardist, musician and producer. Strong in biblical teaching and touring about the world with concert crusades. Ben is married to wife Jewel.

Ben came onto the music scene back in 1990 and since then there have been many names associated with Ben Tankard, The father of Gospel Jazz and The Quincy Jones of Gospel to name two. Ben being very passionate about this faith and uses his music as vehicle to deliver God’s Love. In the words of Ben “God releases His Spirit and power through me, the music becomes a vehicle-of-salvation to carry God’s love, healing and deliverance.”

Ben Tankard’s call to the teaching ministry came in 1998 after being anointed by Dr. Creflo Dollar. Ben is seen at many annual faith meetings with Dr. Creflo Dollar, Dr. Fred Price, Bro. Kenneth Copeland, Dr. Ira Hilliard and Dr. Leroy Thompson.
